As a Digital Experience Lead at Merck’s Austin IT HUB, you will be part of inventing tomorrow. Our Innovative centers are where great people come together and deliver solutions that save and improve lives.

Join a Global Digital Marketing IT team to help us build beautiful solutions which solve important problems and improve human health. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with Merck’s Global Marketing organization, web development teams, UX/Design teams, and end users across the world. The candidate will create solutions which help connect patients with important therapies. The candidate will create responsive web sites which work on any browser/device and run on scalable cloud platforms using modern development techniques.

You will:

  • Partner with Merck’s Global Marketing organization to design journey maps and integrated, multi-channel, digital marketing campaigns

  • Participate in cross-functional, Agile teams spanning IT and Global Marketing

  • Define interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications

  • Communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs to stakeholders

  • Produce high-quality visual designs from concept to execution, including those for desktop, web, and mobile devices at a variety of resolutions

  • Create and iterate on assets that reflect a brand, enforce a language, and inject beauty and life into a product

  • Work with stakeholders, development teams, product owners, user researchers, visual designers, and others to ensure a great user experience is delivered

  • Have your say in product visions and roadmaps before development of products starts

  • Help with defining, implementing, and evangelizing UCD methodology and Lean UX principles

  • Have the chance to lead smaller UX teams or coach junior colleagues

The ideal candidate would have strong domain experience in the Digital Marketing space as well as expertise in the various phases of UX and Design.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Digital Marketing, or related field

  • Master's degree preferred

Required Experience:

  • 7 or more years of experience designing for the web and for mobile devices

  • Experience with marketing technologies and digital marketing channels including web, mobile, and social

  • Expertise with Tagging and Analytics technologies

  • Experience creating user journeys and orchestrated multi-channel marketing campaigns

  • Knowledge of how individual components of user-centered design (user research, interaction, and visual design) work together

  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a broader team

  • Able to effectively communicate to all levels of the business

  • Proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, digital art, a sensitivity to typography and color, a general awareness of materials/textures, and a practical grasp of animation

  • Knowledge of Design Thinking, and the ability to facilitate Discovery Workshops and Design Sprints

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative user research techniques

  • Experience in the life sciences industry

  • Experience in Promotion Review tools and techniques

  • Digital Agency experience

  • Knowledge of Lean Agile development

  • Knowledge of as many of the the following would be beneficial - Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, Fireworks, InVision,CSS,HTML,JavaScript
