Reporting to the US Livestock VP, the Director of Business Initiatives ensures the alignment of people, processes, and technology to support commercial activities that drive sales, innovation & marketing effectiveness to deliver sustainable business growth for the region.

This role is part of the US Livestock Leadership Team and closely partners with its other members. Additionally, this role will partner with North America supporting functions and Global marketing, as well as other stakeholders across the Global Animal Health organization, to ensure alignment with the overall strategy. This position will be based in Lenexa, KS and travel to other Animal Health office locations as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Vice President of US Livestock Business to identify and prioritize enterprise-level strategic initiatives. Facilitate the coordination and alignment of goals and activities across different departments and functional areas ensuring end-to-end planning and execution focused on producing desired outcomes.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for assigned initiatives. Coordinate activities, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution and delivery of results. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Engage with various teams and departments to foster collaboration and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, and discussions to drive alignment, gather insights, and make informed decisions.

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and evaluation of initiatives, including financial and operational performance. Work closely with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions to ensure the achievement of desired outcomes.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other communication materials to provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and key metrics. Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including functional leaders, subject matter experts, and key partners. Collaborate effectively with these stakeholders to drive project success and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance project management effectiveness and drive organizational excellence.

  • Drives collaboration, connection, and alignment across our US Livestock specie areas, particularly around the area of completion and execution of business initiatives in a timely manner. They will focus in the areas of revenue and profitability growth while ensuring alignment of our plans with NALT and Global initiatives and objectives.

  • Serves as a leader for livestock BU integration activities when applicable.

  • Identifies barriers, articulates proposed solutions, and drives resolution to commercial issues.

  • Serves as a member of the US Livestock leadership team.

Stakeholders:

Internally – US. Livestock Leadership Team, NORAM Leadership Team, Global Marketing, Finance, HR, Learning and Development, Legal, Business Development, etc.

Minimum education required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Animal Science, or related field.

Required experience and skills:

  • 8 years of experience in Sales, Marketing and/or Operations within the Animal Health Industry, the food production animal market (e.g. products, customers, competitors, industry trends etc.)

  • Strong Commercial Acumen as well as Strategic Business Thinking Capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and be a positive change agent.

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with different sources of information

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including intercultural, interpersonal, and general communication with a natural ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Ability to create, nurture, and drive a collaborative team environment

  • Pragmatic, disciplined, and a natural problem solver.

  • Ability to understand processes, systems, and interdependencies to drive continuous improvement.

  • High level of business confidentiality

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, namely Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Tableau etc.)”
