Merck Senior Specialist, Digital Health & Innovative Alliances (DH&IA) in North Wales, Pennsylvania

Job Description

The US Market’s Digital Health and Innovative Alliances Team within Strategy and Commercial Operations (S&CO) supports the organization’s focus on building innovative solutions with external companies and partners through strategic alliances, collaborations, and other third parties.

The role of DH&IA Sr. Specialist within the Team will:

  • Work within an adaptive agile organization supporting multiple work streams including external digital health strategic expertise, building new and innovative digital health capabilities for the US market and supporting the ongoing engagement and operations of the DH&IA team

  • Support the various work streams in the areas of project management and internal review processes and participate in strategic discussions and planning

  • Project manage through application of the Alliance Management Playbook principles and our Company's process

  • Execute project management both internally and externally utilizing Microsoft Teams and internal project tracking dashboards and tools

  • Schedule, plan and collaborate with DH&IA team members and potentially Promotions Managers (i.e., brand) based on the project scope or creative in order to facilitate medical and legal reviews of concepts and completion of business cases

  • Lead processes and discussions for the assigned projects in the areas of FMVs (Fair Market Value Assessments), ensure completion of all required steps identified by process and maintenance of the appropriate documents such as Confidentiality Agreement, MCAs (Master Collaboration Agreements), MSAs (Master Service Agreements), and other required documents

  • Schedule as needed and actively facilitate discussions and interactions with external partners, strategic alliances, collaborators and other identified third parties

  • Develop project reporting and analytics processes to keep appropriate internal and external teams informed of project progress and performance

  • Work collaboratively with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Procurement, IT, Finance and other areas as needed

This key position is primarily an internal role, however, will routinely interface a great deal with external vendors, collaborations, and other identified third parties. This role will report into the Assoicate Director of Digital Health & Innovative Alliances.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Project Management Experience Preferred

Required:

  • 2+ years of working experience in the pharmaceutical / health care industry

  • Strong collaborative and communication skills, working with a team and leading without authority are critical skills that this role will require

  • Demonstrated project management and internal process management skills

  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of medical, legal and compliance reviews of promotional materials and experience preparing and presenting to promotional review teams

  • Ability to work in innovative “white space” and to work successfully in a matrix reporting structure

  • <5% Travel may be required

Preferred:

  • Certified Project Manager (PMP certified or certified in six sigma principles)

  • Knowledge of our Company's US operations processes (e.g., PRT processes, Promo Mats, Decideware, COMET, Workfront)

  • Knowledge of health care technology and digital capabilities

  • Trained on Agile Process/Scrum Framework

  • Experience with agile for business teams

  • Experience managing agencies, customers or other stakeholders

  • Experience with all applications in the Microsoft suite

  • Trained on Alliance Management Playbook

  • Familiarity with budget management and annual budget planning process

  • Experience with Jira
