Merck Associate Director – US Oncology Business Integration – Marketing Ecosystem Orchestration Lead in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description

The Associate Director of US Oncology Business Integration – Marketing Ecosystem Orchestration Lead reports to the Director of US Oncology Business Integration and sits within the US Oncology Customer Experience and Marketing Operations Team (CEMO).

This role will support the mobilization and leadership of US Oncology growth initiatives as well as leadership of Project ACCELERATE Scaling, Integration, enhancement, and Change Management for US Oncology. Project ACCELERATE is a high-visibility, high-priority, multi-year program focused on the creation of Our One Company Experience across customers leveraging best-in-class omnichannel capabilities to deliver a personalized, seamlessly integrated, and immediate experience.

This person will be a key member of the US Oncology ACCELERATE OME Program team and will work in close collaboration with capability teams, and tumor teams (marketing & ADT). This person will have specific responsibilities in thoroughly understanding the OME Integrated Marketing Model (OME E2E) and is expected to work closely with Marketing teams, ADTs, and capability teams to lead appropriate investment, enhancements, automation, and simplification to improve the maturity and orchestration of capabilities, processes, and ways of working, across the US Oncology Marketing organization to deliver growth and business impact in a sustainable way.

High-Level Responsibilities

Business Integration :

  • Integration Strategy: Define and implement strategies to integrate disparate capabilities and systems across the ecosystem

  • Installation: Own and drive net-new or incremental capability installations across the marketing ecosystem

  • Measurement: Monitor performance of integrated capabilities and address any issues or risks that arise

Ecosystem Orchestration :

  • Ecosystem Vision: Establish a clear vision for the marketing ecosystem and articulate its role in achieving org-wide objectives

  • Ecosystem Interaction Mapping: Map out interactions and dependencies between technologies, processes, and data

  • Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication between marketing, HHDDA, CEMO, and other teams

Marketing Maturity Evolution :

  • Strategic Alignment: Drive leadership alignment between marketing ecosystem and broader marketing strategy

  • Capability Prioritization: Assess and drive decision-making on capabilities to embed to mature marketing ecosystem

  • Integrated Capability Roadmap: Harmonize individual capability roadmaps to develop integrated capability roadmap

Process & Role Definition : Develop and Memorialize Priority Processes to Ensure Clarity between Cross-Functional Teams

  • Process Analysis: Identify gaps in process documentation and determine depth of processes needed to enable clarity

  • Process Design: Develop detailed processes (e.g., flows, charts, etc.) to articulate desired ways of working

  • Role Clarity: Define and ensure R&Rs are clear amongst cross-functional teams (e.g., deliverables, inputs/outputs, etc.)

Process Standardization and Adherence : Govern Operating Processes to Ensure Consistent Execution Across Tumors

  • Training: Develop and deliver necessary training/knowledge sessions to cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate upskilling

  • Governance: Ensure compliance with standard processes through clear communication and expectation setting

  • Ongoing Support: Provide ongoing guidance to marketing, HHDDA, CEMO, etc. around processes, handoffs, etc.

Continuous Improvement : Drive Process Enhancements and Efficiencies across Marketing Ecosystem

  • Feedback Gathering: Seek feedback on process effectiveness and incorporate into enhancement opportunities

  • Change Management: Lead change efforts to embed process changes or enhancements and ensure desired outcome

Key Working Relationships

  • US Oncology Business Integration team – Close partnership to drive the OME vision and scaling plan to deliver portfolio growth and business impact.

  • Strategy & Commercial Model Innovation – Collaboration to achieve common goals against program milestones and change management practices. Ensure appropriate level of coordination and integration across programs. Share learnings identify points of synergy.

  • OME US Oncology Workstream Leads & Program Team – Uncover key scaling challenges and rapidly work across stakeholders to resolve.

  • US Oncology Marketing Teams – Close working partnership to solve business needs and enable the delivery of OME E2E Marketing model.

  • Global HHDDA Close partnership to manage the coordination and capacity of shared resources, key partner to ensure appropriate capability integration and share key learnings to enable scaling.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Required: BA/BS

  • Preferred: MBA or MPH

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Proven ability to navigate complex organizations and advocate for change across cross-functional teams.

  • Proficient in working within collaborative, fast-paced environments, building and maintaining strong relationships, and delivering high-quality work.

  • Executive presence and the ability to convey appropriate messages at the appropriate level.

  • Strong vision for the future, with the ability to influence change and gain support.

  • Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for strategic and conceptual thinking.

  • Strong project management and execution skills, with some experience working in Agile methodologies.
