Merck Research Labs is currently seeking (2) summer interns to work on the Global Clincical Trial Operations (GCTO) USA team. This intern position will provide exposure to the field of clinical research / drug development with direct activities to support the USA Country Operations teams – which includes 800 field based professionals working to deliver Merck’s clinical research portfolio. The assignments will vary to support different processes and activities to ensure the conduct and oversight of Merck clinical trials in accordance with global and FDA regulations with our USA Investigational Sites (eg, hospitals, medical centers.)

This is a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.

Required: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in the scientific or healthcare fields.

Required Experience and skills:

  • Candidates must have effective communication skills.

  • Candidates must be able to work up to (12) weeks beginning in May or June of 2019.

  • Candidates must have knowledge of medical terminology / scientific research principles.

  • Candidates must be self-motivated and organized.

  • Candidates must be able to seek assistance or guidance when necessary and interested to learn and grow.

  • Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills essential – ability to work / collaborate with diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates should have a proven track record at university with high GPA, health care volunteer or relevant work experience.
