The Associate Director, Global Scientific Content Scientist (GSC), is accountable for the following:
Scientific Platform and Development of Global Medical Content Strategies and Annual Plans:
Shapes and informs the creation and adaptation of the Scientific Platform.
Creates, adapts, and prioritizes Annual GSC Product Plan(s) aligned with Scientific Platform and informed through insights and feedback from key internal stakeholders cross-functionally and worldwide.
Executes GSC Plans that include but are not limited to scientific response documents, disease and product related slide decks, global congress medical booth materials, and digital/web-based medical content.
Global Scientific Content Development:
Authors or delegates the development of GSC content that aligns to Annual GSC plan(s) and Scientific Platform.
Reviews GSC materials to ensure they are relevant, scientifically accurate, and consistent with Company values and standards.
Communicates to key stakeholders of GSC approved content for adaptation and approval as required by local rules and regulations.
Medical Education and Training:
- In alignment and coordination with Learning & Development and GMA/Field Medical organization, provides training to internal stakeholders on key GSC developed disease and product content.
Key Leadership Responsibilities Include, but are Not Limited To:
Has a deep understanding of Oncology therapeutic area, including product knowledge, disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.
Leads product-related projects/initiatives that directly impact the franchise/product strategy and objectives to meet external customer needs. Drives the solution of complex problems through identification of innovative solutions.
Vendor and budget management of GSC developed materials
Education Minimum Requirement:
MD/PharmD/PhD minimum 3 years of relevant Medical Affairs (e.g. medical communications, medical information, medical liaison, publications) experience
MSN, BS Degree in Pharmacy, MS degree in Life Sciences minimum 5 years Medical Affairs related experience
BS Degree in Nursing, or Life Sciences minimum 7 years Medical Affairs related experience
Advanced degree(MD, PharmD, PhD) preferred
Required Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of Oncology Therapeutic Area
Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills (solution-driven)
Relevant working experience in Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written as well as oral) skills
Exhibited leadership via initiatives, mentoring, process improvements, innovation
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience leading the development of Global or Regional Medical/Scientific Affairs Plans
Development or delivery of scientific content for purpose of scientific exchange with external customers
Negotiation skills for interaction with cross-functional teams
Prior experience working across geographies with different regulation/compliance requirements
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate strategy into action plans
