Merck Director Global Marketing Oncology Lifecycle Management Strategy in Upper Gwynedd, Pennsylvania

Within Human Health, our Global Oncology Organization is currently recruiting for a Strategy Director to join the Global Oncology Strategy and Operations team reporting to the Executive Director of Lifecycle Management Strategy.

The Global Director for Oncology Lifecycle Management (LCM) team will play a critical role in supporting our Oncology aspirations across two distinct spheres.

  • Cross functional leadership in our global subcutaneous launch program

  • Helping to lead our lifecycle management planning for our largest oncology asset

This role is for a strategic leader who is a self-starter, loves working on complex and strategic topics and who thrives on engaging and leading broadly across the organization to drive towards tangible outcomes. The right candidate will be able to distill information into actionable tactics aligned to strategic goals for Lifecycle Management (LCM). The Director will collaborate closely with the Manufacturing, Finance, and Clinical team as well as Global Market Access and Pricing to develop and execute lifecycle strategy globally. This position is based out of the Rahway NJ site

Key responsibilities would include:

  • Support the launch preparations of new subcutaneous formulation of our Company’s largest oncology product.

  • Partnering with the LOE strategy director to drive preparation for LCM strategy, analysis, and activities

  • Main collaboration point for Manufacturing preparations across subcutaneous and lifecycle.

  • Working across the LCM team to help define scenarios and global sales forecast guidance on biosimilar and subcutaneous entry timing and share erosion, collaborating with colleagues across the enterprise (Finance, IP, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Regions) for our largest oncology product.

  • Driving LCM brand strategy and a roadmap for advancing product solutions to the benefit of patients

  • Providing global commercial input into market-specific lifecycle management options in low-middle income countries and managing strategy and communications around non multi-national PD-(L)1 developments

  • Drive efficient and effective stakeholder engagement for subcutaneous product launch preparations (across global organization & countries/regions)

  • Work closely with cross-divisional stakeholders as needed to ensure appropriate supply planning.

This role is for someone with:

  • Strong launch experience

  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with an ability to craft stories through data and strong cross functional working with disease leads.

  • Ability to stay focused on the detail while evolving broad strategic plans.

  • An ability to direct and collaborate with broad and complex teams of stakeholders—across functions and geographies and influence without direct line authority

  • An excellent written / verbal communication and presentation approach to all levels of an organization

  • A commercial disposition with good base of business acumen and high analytical rigor

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • MBA or MS /PhD preferred but not essential

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry with expertise in marketing, access and insights.

  • Experience in strategy consulting would be highly considered.

  • Oncology Experience

  • Loss of Exclusivity (LOE) and/or Lifecyle Management (LCM) experience

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$181,600.00 - $285,800.00
